Contracted to quickly fill the gap left by the unexpected departure of the Director of the Customer Service Business (£18m sales) of the division. The main initial brief was to lead and manage the business whilst recruiting a permanent successor and actively participate as an Exec Board member of the £100m UK Communications business, helping to formulate and implement wider business improvements and strategy.
Managed the Customer Services and Support business (135) people until successor was recruited (commenced August). Full Year Contribution was £2.9m (25% above budget). Minor organisation changes saved £250k p.a.
As part of a key project team helped deliver improved customer service and operational cost reductions of £1.5m p.a. by combining product assembly and test with customer services spares and repairs and extending previous outsourcing initiatives.
Obtained MOD SC Security Clearance and was asked to lead two restructuring programmes (see Interim Programme Director).
